Rubber Legs Variegated Olive/Orange/Brown Size 4-6

$2.25

The Rubber Leg Stone is a staple on the Lower Sacramento River. I always have a Rubber Legs tied on. The Lower Sacramento has a good population of Salmon, Golden and Skwala stoneflies. The Rubber Legs is a “Guide Fly”, that plain works. I carry three different colors in my fly box. I carry brown, brown/black variegated and olive/orange/brown variegated rubber legs in two different sizes. These flies are tied to my specifications. I use a TMC 5262 rather than a TMC 5263 hook. The TMC 5262 is a shorter shank hook. The larger Rubber Legs are tied on a size 4 and the smaller are tied on a size 6. The bigger hook sizes have the same shank length as the TMC 5263 but give you a larger hook gap. These Rubber Legs are weighted heavily, the complete shank is .025 non-toxic lead wire. When you stick a big river rainbow with a size 4 Rubber Legs fly – he or she isn’t coming off!!

The variegated olive/orange/brown is tied to represent two stoneflies. The Hesperoperla Pacifica, Aka the “Golden Stone” and the Skwala Stonefly. This variegated color allows this stone to represent both. The larger size 4 Rubber Legs represents the Golden Stone, and the smaller size 6 Rubber Legs represents the Skwala.
