Nymph Workshop

from $62.50

Nymph Workshop

n the “Nymph Workshop,” we concentrate on two types of nymphing: tight line and dead drift. All we do in this workshop is nymphing—hands-on and in the water.

The course is set around nymphing rods, lines, and rigging. A large part of this workshop is hands-on: rigging and fishing. We instruct the student on the types of setups and how to pick the proper setup for the fishing situation.

We focus on reading water and wading into the proper casting position. You cannot make a dead drift with a nymph if you can't read the water. Both tight line and dead drift are equally effective— but both have their place in your fly-fishing tactics tool bag.

Nymph Workshop is held at Hammon Grove Park, Yuba River, CA.

Nymph workshops are taught by one instructor per three enrolled students. The morning workshop costs $125 per student. Rods, reels, flies, leaders, and indicators are all included. However, wading gear is not.

A detailed handout from the morning workshop is provided for the student to take home as a reference. Students may bring their equipment if they wish. Students must possess a valid California fishing license.
