My Original Hex Nymph is a fly that, over the last two decades, has been changed many times into the masterpiece that it is today. This year 2025 we have gone back to the original design, and we got more fish! It has the correct color, movement and size as the natural Hexagenia Limbata at Lake Almanor. This fly is a work horse and is tied on to every sinking line rig I fish and guide with at Almanor. I fish this on a short 4-foot 2X or 3X fluorocarbon tippet leader.
