Hex Hatch Tour at Lake Almanor

from $95.00

Hex Hatch at Lake Almanor Tour

The “Hex Tour” is a simple, straight-to-the-point tour that focuses on the “Hexagenia Limbata” and the areas at Lake Almanor where it is found.

We drive the lake's west shore, pointing out access areas and fishing tips for each fishing access with the equipment and flies we use during our day-to-day guiding operation. The tour is much more about where and when. We cover the entomology of the Hexagenia and why it’s found at Lake Almanor. This hands-on tour gives the fly fisher a firm understanding of how to fish the Hex Hatch at Lake Almanor.

The tour fee is $190 per guest for the one-day tour, limited to 3 anglers per instructor. Transportation, a tri-tip dinner, and beverages during the day. Handouts for the tour will include maps, access areas, flies, special setups, recommended equipment, and other special features that pertain to the fishery. A complete list of all equipment needed is attached to the confirmation package. Guests must possess a valid California fishing license and bring their equipment, personal watercraft, and wading gear (equipment is available if needed).
