Albino Wino Lightning Tail Size 16 - 18
The Lightning Tail is just a little bling added to the bomber to imitate the movement of the midge. This adaptation of Brian Chan's fly has become a staple in my midge box. A great fly that has fooled fish all over the world. One of my favorite midges to use at Lake Almanor, Crowley Lake, Lake Davis, Baum Lake, and Manzanita Lake in all sizes. I use black and/or red midges deep in the water column or anywhere in the water column on dark, overcast days, and gray midges shallow in the water column on bright, sunny days. These midges are bulletproof and can be fished repeatedly without wearing them out. These flies are tied on the Daiichi Model 1760 hook and finished with a tungsten bead. These flies work.
Albino Wino Lightning Tail is an excellent fly deep in the water column. This fly reflects light on both dark and bright days. This fly should be the bottom (terminal) or middle fly on your three-midge rig.
