Jon Baiocchi & Lance Gray kicked around the idea of doing a fly fishing tour with a drift trip for the Yuba River. So we hatched the “Yuba Grande Tour”, which has now grown into a permanent LGC workshop - introducing the Pontoon Workshop.
The Pontoon Workshop is much more than a fishing trip. As always we go above and beyond with the workshop curriculum. The workshop covers water safety, reading water, recognizing water hazards, back and front rowing, pivoting with combination oar strokes to maximum learning time and to give the students sureness for a great drift down the river.
The Yuba River is our host. We travel the river from Highway 20 to Sycamore Ranch, teaching watercraft skills. The students gain confidence in their personal rowing skills, become comfortable with their craft and overcome challenges while being assisted by seasoned oarsmen.
If you looking to make the journey of learning to drift moving water, this is the workshop for you.
