LGC’s Stillwater School at Manzanita Lake
Lance Gray & Company has designed a two day school to teach the fly fisher the basics of stillwater fly fishing.
LGC’s Stillwater School will be held at Manzanita Lake. Manzanita Lake is located in Lassen Volcanic National Park. The lake is a true stillwater gem. The lake boast wild rainbow and brown trout and is a catch and release lake with artificial lures only allowd. The lake holds multiple terrain transition points with characteristics that are perfect for teaching the art of stillwater fly-fishing.
The two day school is intended for two fly-fishers for maximum learning exposure. All equipment is included; rods, reels, lines, flies, leaders, float tubes and our 18’ Fishcraft driftboat. The only equipment that the student needs to bring is personal gear including waders and boots (see Guest Equipment List). After completing this course the students will have a great knowledge of how, when and what to fish at any time on a stillwater fishery.
This is a diehard school that is intended to produce solid stillwater fly-fishers when completed. We will start early every morning and have both classroom sessions on the water and at LGC’s camp. The classrooms are all hands on, with concentration on student involvement.
The goal of the LGC’s Stillwater School at Manzanita Lake is provide a stillwater course, that when completed, the student fly-fisher will have the knowledge and confidence to fish other stillwater on their own.
